Here is a selection of instruments I have built, as well as some current works in progress.
If you are looking for a custom instrument I am happy to discuss your ideas, develop a design, consult on timber choices, and bring it to life.
Back, sides and neck is highly figured turpentine from the estate of the late dulcimer maker Gillian Alcock
Hand cut inlays of abalone, mother of pearl, paua shell and maple
Ebony nut
Hand cut traditional Martin-style birds beak volute headstock joint
5-fan bracing on a spruce top
Cypress back and sides, Spanish cedar neck
Unlike the original, the client wanted a slotted 3-per-side headstock instead of the traditional friction peg tuners
Three replicas were built at the same time, two for clients and one for myself
All inlays were hand cut and installed
